Hey, Im Jarrett a Wedding photographer out of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

I’m an utterly hopeless romantic.

I’m a Detroit wedding photographer based in Ann Arbor Michigan. Photography wasn't always my passion. But I did grow up with an immense passion for the arts. You could always find me with a pencil and paper in my hands. Whether I was drawing or writing. I've always been in love with creating things with my own two hands.

Before photography, I had my career goal set on becoming a head chef at a restaurant in NYC. However, in 2010 I had an idea that would change my life forever. I decided to take a leap of faith, I walked into a local wedding photography studio and asked for a chance to become an intern. The position was of course unpaid, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, and long weekend hours. I worked there every day and every weekend honing my craft and paying my dues into an amazing art form that would become my food, dreams, and air.

Shortly after my first step into the world of professional wedding photography, in 2011 I decided to take another leap of faith. Being the hopeless romantic that I am, I packed my life into a single bag and bought a one-way ticket. 750 miles away, following my heart to Michigan to be with the girl who stole my heart. I began planning to open my own wedding photography studio. Suddenly it came to me, Alice Heart Photography…

I am a loose-leaf tea connoisseur with probably too much tea to drink. I enjoy binge-watching spectacular tv shows until I can't keep my eyes open. The perfect date night to me is the cliché dinner and a movie. Other than my camera, my favorite piece of equipment is my car. I have a twin, she just happens to be seven years old, the love of my life, and my daughter. I have two mini me's who love to climb on things, just as much as I did when I was their age(s). I also have three pups - Akira, Nebula, and August. (It's starting to sound like a zoo in here.)

My top two favorite movies (solely based on nostalgia) are The Lion King & The Lake House.
I was born in LA, raised in both Brooklyn & Myrtle Beach, had an apartment in Charleston and have lived in Monroe, Northville, and Canton MI.
According to my father, the photographer genes didn't fall far, my grandfather was also a photographer.

I believe that with photography, I can capture timeless captivating moments that people share. Above all the photographic outlets, wedding photography is by far my favorite. Weddings are a celebration that two people share when they love one another so much that they must proclaim that love to the heavens and have an everlasting bond with one another. To me, it is one of the most beautiful life experiences one could ever hope for. I can't wait to capture the first day of the rest of your lives together.

WHAT TO EXPECT

So... You're getting married and you need a photographer?

Alight, so... I am going to cut to the chase. You've found "your person" the person that just gets you, the person that you can't live without, and let's face it... The person that drives you the craziest. But all jokes aside. They are your rock, they are the air you breathe, and they give your life purpose.

You two have finally decided to commit the rest of your lives to one another and get married. You are looking for someone who can capture the essence of your love and ever-growing bond. But you don't know what to look for?

Find what speaks to you, can you see yourself in the images? Do they "move" you?

Can you get along with the person capturing your images for 8 - 10 hours of your life on your wedding day?

We achieve our results by truly getting to know our clients and creating an individual experience from beginning to end. We work closely with you from pre-planning your wedding day to designing your perfect album. We strive to leave an impression that will last well beyond your wedding day.

THE PROCESS

STEP ONE

Let’s set a time to either hop on a call or meet for coffee. I want to chat more about the vision for your wedding day, learn more about the two of you as a couple, go over a basic timeline for wedding day events, and answer any questions you might have.

STEP TWO

When you are ready to book and you have chosen a package. I will send over a contract and invoice for the deposit to lock in your wedding date.

STEP THREE

Let's set up an Engagement Session! (Additional time in front of the camera has some added benefits.) We will have the opportunity to work together before the wedding day. Which can help acclimate you to being in front of the camera, posing, and creating familiarity between us. You will also have the chance to capture some really amazing images of you two as a couple without the added stress of time.

STEP FOUR

The week of your wedding day I will give you a call to go over the final "wedding day timeline." This is to ensure everyone is on the same page and that any and all plans go a lot smoother.

STEP FIVE

It's your WEDDING DAY can you even believe that the culmination of all of these months of planning is finally coming to fruition!?!?

A FEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

Keep the room you'll be getting ready in clean for the best possible images.

Consider a first look. Opting in for a first look can give you more time alone with each other, a private moment to soak in all those emotions, more final portraits together, and more time with your guests.

Create a list for family members you'd like to see grouped together for family photos.

Take note of any locations near your wedding venue you'd like to take photos at with your wedding party and romantic portraits of the two of you.

He made my wedding feel like an absolute fairytale. He went above and beyond, from moving furniture, to buying a pair of rain boots so he could get through the muddy mess of our ceremony grounds. His dedication and talent exceeded my expectations. I only have sneak peeks right now, but they make me SO excited to get the rest of them!! If you need a wedding or boudoir photographer, stop looking and book him!"
